Jessica and Russ had a Fall Wedding, at the beautifully renovated 1930s Ranch House The Maples. I have never seen so many Olive Trees as those that lined the drive on the approach to the venue. Wow what a setting!
Bright and bold was the theme throughout the day and working on this wedding you couldn’t help but smile with all the fresh, vivid colors. The couple were married in October and wanted a seasonally bright color palette that helped the wedding feel “Fall-like” without the clichéd traditional Fall feel of burlap and rustic orange.
Jessica’s bouquet was filled with garden roses, dahlia, Chinese lanterns, ranunculus, craspedia, bay, scented geranium, hydrangea, eucalyptus, celosia, stock, lisianthus, gomphrena and peacock gladiolus. A real feast of color and smells, I loved the combination of the peach, orange, pink and mustard, all the colors work so well together to create a real eye catching display. A memory charm was added to Jessica’s bouquet so she could keep the people who mattered most to her and weren’t able to be at the wedding close by all day. Jess’s maids had slightly smaller versions of her bouquet which sat perfectly with their lace detail navy dresses. The subtle addition of ribbon to the bouquet stems helped tie the look together and provided that extra pop of color.
Jessica and Russ said their vows under one of the huge, ancient trees on the ranch, my team and I created a focal point with a large greenery and flower filled wreath, including flowers such as garden roses, dahlia, hydrangea and lisianthus. The vividness of the greenery and the bold colors really stood out against the darker backdrop of the trees.
The aisle was lined with candles in lanterns and two of the cutest flower girls scattered petals ahead of Jessica. A simple boutonniere finished off the look for groom Russ and he looked incredibly handsome is his traditional, formal grey suit. However was nothing traditional or cutesy about the decor for this Fall wedding, I really feel we were able to twist the styling to be modern and fresh.
There were two table designs for the wedding reception, one was greenery heavy with lanterns and clusters of flowers whilst the other displayed crates filled with planted succulents that could be given away to guests as gifts. Dark wood crates, lanterns and table numbers provided the perfect color balance to the couples bold flower choices. Jessica’s bouquet took centre place on the couples romantic sweetheart table amongst a greenery runner on the front of the table. Glass tealights and knotted stripe linen napkins finished off this perfect relaxed look.
Thank you Jessica and Russ for asking us to create the florals for your beautiful day, this is a bright, stunning wedding we won’t forget!
